At ten metres long, Cantina del Vigía is less an illustration than an inhabited world. Printed on Hahnemühle paper — the material of fine art printmaking — this monumental digital work unfolds as a continuous scene: a space of gathering, watching, and waiting.
The title names a place of vigil. The vigía — the watchman — recurs throughout Lucadamo's iconography as a figure who stands at the edge of things, witnessing without intervening. Here that figure multiplies into an entire social environment, a cantina populated by presences both ordinary and mythological.
The work is held in a private collection in Uruguay, where it was created — a piece that carries its geography with it.
Con diez metros de longitud, Cantina del Vigía es menos una ilustración que un mundo habitado. Impresa en papel Hahnemühle — el material de la gráfica de autor — esta obra digital monumental se despliega como una escena continua: un espacio de encuentro, de espera, de vigilia.
El título nombra un lugar de guardia. El vigía — el que observa — reaparece a lo largo del imaginario de Lucadamo como una figura que se sitúa en el borde de las cosas, que atestigua sin intervenir. Aquí esa figura se multiplica en un entorno social entero, una cantina poblada de presencias a la vez cotidianas y mitológicas.
La obra forma parte de una colección privada en Uruguay, donde fue creada — una pieza que lleva su geografía consigo.
